Astra Blue is a stain for oligo- and polysaccharides such as cellulose in plant tissues. Astra Blue also acts as a precursor for water soluble phthalocyanines. Astra Blue has a Dye content of 90%. Astra Blue has a wavelength of maximum absorption (λmax) of 601 – 609 nm. Astra Blue has also been used for analysis of human mast cells from tissues or blood samples.
