Applications
It is suitable for environmental and GC analysis. It is used as an antifreeze, solvent, fuel, and as a denaturant for ethanol. Used for producing bio-diesel, synthesis of formaldehyde and acetic acid, useful to make chemicals, to remove water from automotive and aviation fuels, as a solvent for paints and plastics, and as an ingredient in a wide variety of products. It plays an important role for the measurement of methyl ester content of pectin. It is useful for the preparation of compact direct methanol fuel cells for portable application.
Notes
It is a stable chemical compound. Incompatible with oxidizing agents, metals, acids. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
